The Beauty of Barcelona!

LA VIE: Short getaway trips are something I live for... It resonates with how fast I can get excited about arriving to a destination and in an instant be ready to go. I love short excursions that give me "just enough" yet make me feel invited to come back. I was in Barcelona for work: a convention and a celebration for the franchisees my business unit supports. I was excited to go and knew I needed to arrive early to enjoy the city before the convention started. 

Oh boy... Barcelona reminds me much about what I enjoy about living in California. Fun, vibrant, a sense of community, and a feeling that makes me want to say, "I'm home!" Now, I don't have any plans to move to Barcelona, yet understand why so many people love the city. It's carefree, people are much, much kinder than Parisians (désole, mes Parisiens). I think the two things I enjoyed the most about Barcelona is the architecture and the people. Barcelona found a unique way of blending modern day architecture with old century Art Deco; it's so well incorporated, I felt the spirit of the city! The people reminded me of the kindness one would expect anywhere. A nice balance between tourist treatment and local retailers who want you to peruse with delight - their stores with a sense of "you belong here" candor. I welcome you to consider Barcelona as a top option when visiting Europe. It's a beautiful city that cares about its people and takes pride in how unique they are. Thank you Barcelona for making my trip a wonderful weekend excursion. I will be back soon... Very soon!
