Counting Steps; Never Counting Cities

Sacré-Cœur: Paris, France

Sacré-Cœur (Sacred Heart of Montmartre)

LA VIE: Just a quick random note (thinking aloud)… I often observe that when visiting cities, it is so important to walk as much as possible to see the sites and sounds of the city. I like to count the number of steps I take - not the locations I visit. Here’s why: when I read my pedometer and see I have walked 50,000 steps or more (sometimes it’s as little as 20,000 steps), I feel I have experienced more than just sightseeing. I have walked paths I would never otherwise walked. For me, it represents the destinations I’ve reached without checking off locations on a list. Happy Walking!
